Cadet Leadership Course

It will help them hone those skills which will make them more productive members of their unit. It will also provide them with the ultimate test of teamwork as they accomplish goals with cadets from other units. Finally, the cadet leadership school will boost self-confidence and esteem as the graduate achieves a level of achievement above that of many of his peers. It is an effective measure of how well the cadet has internalized the principles and training provided.

Community Service

Community service is a major part of the cadet experience and helps instill a sense of civic pride and citizenship. Each year, AFJROTC cadets contribute more than 1.6 million hours of community service. Projects range from working with Air Force Marathon, Very Special Arts, USA Patriot Amputee events, to participating in local community projects such as cleaning and refurbishing cemeteries and building parks.

Curriculum In Action Trips

Each year, students have the opportunity to visit local and out of state sites that are tied to the classroom curriculum.  In the past, we’ve visited the Air Force Museum and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.  Options for future trips include Gettysburg National Military Park in Pennsylvania, and Washington DC.

Dining In

The purpose of the dining-in is to bring together members of a unit in an atmosphere of camaraderie, good fellowship, and social rapport.  It enables cadets to create bonds of friendship and better working relations through an atmosphere of good fellowship.  The Combat dining-in is the newest of the dining-in traditions, is less but still emphasizes military tradition and good fellowship.

This program consist of introductory level courses, which will provide a brief overview of what an actual Flight School would be like.

Military Ball

Similar to a home coming dance, the Military Ball is a formal, social event that allows JROTC members and guests to enjoy a formal evening together based upon military tradition.  Cadets observe the Prisoner of War, Missing In Action table ceremony and a cordon that recognizes the “royalty” court of each participating school.

National Awards

The JROTC Awards and Decorations Program recognizes cadets that have achieved a high degree of merit with respect to academics, leadership qualities, military bearing, and general excellence.  Some of the national-level awards include the Air Force Sergeant’s Association, American Legion, and the Purple Heart Association.

Orientation Flights

Civil Air Patrol provides orientation flights to cadets in order to motivate and stimulate the cadet’s interest in and knowledge of aviation and aerospace activities.
